Diver Classification
To enhance both the enjoyment and safety of our leisure and recreational diving activities, divers are categorised into the following three (3) classifications:
- Beginner Diver
A diver certified as an Open Water Scuba Diver or equivalent, with 25 logged dives or fewer. - Novice Diver
A diver who has developed satisfactory buoyancy control and fundamental diving skills, certified as at least an Advanced Open Water Scuba Diver or equivalent, with 26 to 100 logged dives. - Experienced Diver
A diver certified as at least an Advanced Open Water Scuba Diver or equivalent, with more than 100 logged dives, and who has completed drift diving training or holds a recognised drift diving certification. The diver shall also possess experience diving in a variety of underwater environments, including different depth ranges and current conditions.
Note: Nemo Divers reserves the right to assess a diver’s competency and assign an appropriate dive site, depth limit, or activity based on the diver’s certification level, logged diving experience, and demonstrated skills. Participation in certain dive sites or activities may be restricted where, in the opinion of Nemo Divers, the diver’s experience or competency is not suitable for the prevailing conditions.
